“Think you can stop what we do? I doubt it…!”
They’re behind one of the viral sensations of the year to date, The Spark, and now primary school rap sensations Kabin Crew and GMCBeats have been lined up to appear at the forthcoming Beyond The Pale festival, which takes place from 21 to 23 June in Wicklow, Ireland.
The young rappers will be conducting a workshop, appearing among a series of artworld renegades and performance giants at this year’s Beyond The Pale, which has just announced its extensive arts programme.
Other highlights include SUN-STOP, a contemporary reimagining of a neolithic stone circle designed by award-winning architects James Martin and Eibhlín Ní Chathasaigh; the giant bunny installation Intrude by Amanda Parer; THISISPOPBABY’s Cracked Lips, a unique late-night cabaret; and Shane Daniel Byrne’s Comedy Shithouse, where comedian Shane Daniel Byrne gathers his dream comedy lineup.
“Beyond the Pale’s arts programme takes its cues both from the extraordinary history, fauna and flora of the festival location and this moment in time that we find ourselves in,” commented Beyond the Pale arts programme director Jennifer Jennings.
“It offers a space to gather and play, to reconnect with nature and ritual, to ignite imagination and stir big feelings. This year’s line-up is full of many of the best artists and performers on the island today, who are guaranteed to have you rolling around the place laughing, dancing your socks off, profoundly moved or indeed utterly gobsmacked many times over the weekend.”

Other performers set to appear over the weekend include Edinburgh Fringe Festival hits Growler and Chicken; Penos with Bohs, inviting festival attendees to take a shot against a Bohs player in support of Palestine; Seán Ronayne’s bird-watching talk and walk; and Livewire, a high-wire stunt walk by Tony Mahon.
The lineup for late-night entertainment includes Trojan Sound System, Andy Smith & Nick Halkes with Reach Up Disco Wonderland, and acid-house wunderkind Klaus Blatter (aka author Irvine Welsh in disguise).
