Kyiv and Liverpool to host joint events for ‘Rave UKraine’ initiative

Rave UKraine, an event to raise funds for non-profit fundraising initiative Music Saves UA, has announced lineup details for its simultaneous events taking place in Kyiv and Liverpool.

Taking place on 7 May in both cities, the Liverpool event, at new venue Content Liverpool, will see Hot Chip (DJ set), DJ Paulette and James Lavelle among those taking to the stage, alongside Ukrainian DJ Mingulitka.

At the Kyiv event, taking place at HVLV Bar (pictured), Petya Cantrust, Jane, Raavel, Pledov and Lostlojik are among this set to perform.

Both events will be taking place at the same time, thousands of miles apart, and both will be livestreamed simultaneously to create one online Rave Ukraine event.

Rave UKraine is an act of resilience and a party with a purpose,” organiser Jez Collins commented. “Uniting ravers and clubbers on the dancefloors of Liverpool and Kyiv, it is an act of solidarity and support and a rejection of Russia’s war on Ukraine, its music and its cultural identity.”

Music Saves UA’s goal is to provide humanitarian assistance for those that need it most in war-ravaged Ukraine. It has collected more than $335,000 in donations to date, and delivered more than 625 tonnes of humanitarian help.

‘Over the past year, we as Music Saves UA collaborated with music events: festivals, conferences, discussions, etc,’ the group said in a statement.

‘Our main task, as a charitable initiative, is to raise awareness about the situation in Ukraine and promote Ukrainian music and culture as well as to raise funds for humanitarian needs in Ukraine. […] We are grateful to the entire Rave Ukraine team for their trust in us and to the people for their support. Music matters and it continues to save lives.’
