Acid house for at-home listening on new Chicago Bee compilation

UK imprint Chicago Bee has unveiled a new compilation, Home Listening – Acid & House VA, which features artists such as Derek Carr, Fear-E, Type 303, Postelektrik and A-Eno-Acid.

The album presents a unique selection of ‘listen at home’ acid house tracks – not the traditional medium for this type of genre – with the aim of creating a collection of tracks that complement each other and are suitable for repeated home listening.

All the artists on the album were asked to imagine fusing acid and house with the classic Virtualsex LP, released on Buzz in 1993, which featured tracks by Carl Craig (the seminal At Les), Derrick May, Kenny Larkin ad Stacey Pullen.

According to the label, for the artists contributing, ‘a TB-303 sound would be welcomed but not essential with an emphasis on soulful emotion and melody.’

The result is a compilation that sees several artists venturing out of their comfort zone, as you can imagine.

Chicago Bee ‘Home Listening – Acid & House’ VA was released on 18 November and can be downloaded here.
