Galway DJ and producer Shampain has announced the forthcoming release of a new EP, Millennium Madness, which is set to land on FREAKMAG on 14 November.

The eight-track EP follows on from the release of his debut mixtape, Catching Up With Myself, and is set across a year spent in Galway city centre, exploring the ‘structures, nature, surrounding suburbs and villages across the four seasons in the tumultuous seaside town’, according to a press release.

With that in mind, the EP is split into two halves, Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter, with accompanying artwork on the front and back of the EP by Sean Kennedy and Conor Ostheimer.

The EP sees Shampain collaborate with a variety of artists including fellow Galwegians Julie Dawson of NewDad fame (pictured), Bethany, and Rachel Trench, while Cork’s Elaine Malone adds vocals to the final track, Tearduct.

It also features field recordings associated with Galway, including recordings taken from the River Corrib, pub smoking areas, walks to and from work and many, many days of pouring rain. Galway residents might also note the name, Millenium Madness, which adorned a popular disco in nearby Salthill.

Shampain – Millenium Madness is released on 14 November on FREAKMAG.
