Beyond the Pale has announced arguably its most eclectic arts programme yet, for its 2025 edition, taking place from 13 to 15 June at Glendalough Estate, Co. Wicklow.
A kaleidoscope of drag, circus, literature, aerial spectacle, and political subversion, highlights will include international cabaret icon Meow Meow; a literary trip down the rabbit hole of masculinity and disco with Irvine Welsh’s Men In Love; Haus of Wig’s drag stage takeover (pictured); and The Wild Geeze’s queer cabaret experience.
Elsewhere, attendees can experience Berlin club culture vibes with Rathaus; freestyle comedy-rap sensation Abandoman; and world pole champion Lisette Krol at Duncan Disorderly’s VIP House Party, starring the show-stealer from THISISPOPBABY’s hit show WAKE.
Activism pulses through the programme with events such as Art of Protest, Penos for Palestine, and Words for My Comrades, a politically charged deep-dive into Tupac Shakur’s legacy by Dean Van Nguyen. Immersive installations are provided by Meta Sonic Flux Collective’s sci-fi techno odyssey and Titans of Chlorologia by Niall Sweeney.
Families are not left out, either, with the youngest Pale-goers able to enjoy the Bee-ology Circus Theatre, Baby Rave, and the Feasa na Foraoise Forest School, while Cork’s Kabin Studio — of Grammy-nominated The Spark — will present hip-hop workshops and youth-led performances.
And that’s only scratching the surface…. 🙂
“This year’s arts programme is a celebration of curiosity, community, and creativity in all its forms,” commented Emily Brennan, arts programme manager. “Whether you’re drawn to drag, circus, spoken word, aerial spectacle or simply stumbling into something surreal in the woods — we want people to feel surprised, inspired, and welcome. Beyond the Pale is where play becomes art, and art becomes unforgettable.”
The comprehensive arts programme is the latest addition to one of Ireland‘s best festival lineups, which features Jon Hopkins, Berlioz, Ezra Collective, Soda Blonde, Cassius, Róisín Murphy, Boney M, Kiasmos, Todd Terje, Jeff Mills, Le Boom, The Sugarhill Gang, Booka Shade, TV on the Radio, Marc Rebillet, BadBadNotGood, Broken Social Scene, Houseplants, Death in Vegas and more. Ticket details and more information is available here.
Announcing our 2025 arts programme – a fever dream of high camp, high kicks and art magic. It’s more daring, delicious and defiant than ever, blending sweaty glitter with political subversion, raw talent with ritual, and spectacle with pure unadulterated craic.
