NOCOLOUR, a new Afro house project from German producer Marcus Voss and Cuban-born DJ Will Hernandez, have announced the release of their debut EP, Numbers.
The four-track EP, released on Black Waxx, was recorded in Voss’ home studio, and began life as two spontaneous tracks that grew into a full EP as the sessions flowed and momentum built.
The pair first connected over a shared passion for music more than a decade ago, with Voss bringing his experience in techno, tech house and drum ‘n’ bass to the table, and Hernandez well-versed in salsa, Latin rhythms, and organic house.
As the official release puts it, the Numbers EP ‘leans into warm percussive grooves, emotive melodies, and stripped-back arrangements designed for movement and connection. It’s music with a summer spirit, built for the club – but deeply personal in its production.’
“We just locked in,” Voss says of the production process. “Each track felt stronger than the last-and when we made Number Four, we knew it was something special.”
That track – Number Four – picked up early traction with two spins on BBC Radio Solent ahead of its official release.
NOCOLOUR draws on a wide spectrum of Afro house influences, with nods to artists like Keinemusik, Adam Port, &ME, Black Coffee, and Solomun. The duo haven’t announced any live shows just yet, but they’re just getting started, with more tracks in the works.
“We’d love anyone who connects with the music to come along for the ride. This project is built on passion, and in return, we’ll keep creating and sharing our energy with anyone who wants to listen,” Voss adds. “This music is for the people – and we hope you enjoy it as much as we love making it.”
