Beyond The Pale announces day-by-day breakdown for 2023 edition


Beyond The Pale, which takes place from 16 to 18 June at Glendalough Estate, Co. Wicklow, has announced the day-by-day breakdown for its 2023 edition, and it promises to be an absolute cracker from start to finish.

Friday, June 16

Kicking off the festival with a bang, the Friday lineup features Thundercat and Jon Hopkins as headliners, while joining them are artists including For Those I Love, Dope Lemon, Maribou State, Flight Facilities, and Whomadewho.

Other appearances on the Friday include David August, Joy Orbison, Henrik Schwarz & Alma Quartet (check out 909originalsrecent interview with Henrik here), Baynk, Jockstrap, and Soichi Terada, along with Bricknasty, Pretty Happy, DJ Deece and Ricky Chong.


Saturday, June 17

Saturday promises an unforgettable lineup of performances to keep the energy flowing, with Hot Chip and Leftfield headlining proceedings. Joining them are Oneohtrix Point Never, Little Dragon, Candi Staton (appearing as part of her farewell tour), Jungle, and Tinlicker, while Christian Löffler, Le Boom, Booka Shade, Jan Blomqvist, and Saint Sister are also part of the exciting lineup for the day.

Other Saturday performers include Mano Le Tough, Grandbrothers, Daithí, Florist, David Kitt, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul (a must-attend according to the 909originals team!), Marie Davidson, Hagop Tchaparian, DJ Poolboi, Skinner, Ezra Williams, Scattered Ashes and Emmy Shigeta.


Sunday, June 18

The final day of Beyond The Pale Festival is nothing short of extraordinary, with Grace Jones, an iconic figure in the music industry, taking the headline slot.

Other performers will include Morcheeba, Pillow Queens, Jape, Max Cooper, Squid, and DJ Seinfeld, along with The Skatalites, Irvine Welsh, Kishi Bashi, Horse Meat Disco B2B Luke Una, Tolu Makay, Sofia Kourtesis, Lebanon Hanover, Los Bitchos, East Forest, The Love Ball, Melts, NCH Gamelan Orchestra, Lumo Club, Noah and Nocturnal Animals, among others.


Elsewhere, Beyond The Pale will feature comedy performances from Panti Bliss, Deirdre O’Kane, Emma Doran, Gearóid Farrelly, Chris Kent, Grace Mulvey and more, as well as welcoming ‘artworld renegades’ including Leah Hewson, Kev Freeney, Niall Sweeney, Yan Takuz, Lisa McCormack and others.

Also don’t miss the festival’s ‘cult cabaret’ lineup, including Bourgeois & Maurice, Paradise Cabaret, Bonnie Boux, Cabáiste Cabaret, Real Hot Bitches and more, while the festival is also promising ‘late night mayhem’ from the likes of Attention Bébé, Stomptown Brass, the Mother DJs and Secret Society, which is promoting a ‘They Sleep WE Dance’ after party in the Glendalough woods.
