Fatboy Slim celebrates infamous Big Beach Boutique event with ‘Right Here, Right Then’ package

Fatboy Slim has announced the forthcoming release of Right Here, Right Then, an album package marking the 20th anniversary of the infamous Big Beach Boutique event, held in Brighton in July 2002.

The album, available in hardback book and CD digipak formats, includes multiple recordings of the original set, a new DJ mix, a DVD of the original concert, a 48-page, 12” book with photos and more, and will be released on 2 September on Skint/BMG. It’s available to pre-order now by clicking here.

On 13 July 2002, more than a quarter of a million ravers descended on Brighton Beach for the now legendary event hosted by Mr Slim, aka Norman Cook – more than four times the expected size and a record-breaking event for a free open-air concert.

“I think I was too stressed on the day about crowd safety to really take it all in, to fully enjoy the experience,” Cook says of the event.

“Now I feel I can look back at the footage, remember the tunes, that sunset, my home seafront looking like a carnival in Brazil, so many beautiful people having the time of their lives, I have never seen such joyous madness, such good natured abandon…A wise man once described me as ‘a shepherd of moments’.”

Fatboy Slim has a busy year of events in-store, with events in Poland, Ireland, the UK, Spain, Canada and the US in the pipeline.

In addition, his ‘All Back To Minehead” event will launch its inaugural event at Butlin’s Minehead across the weekend of 18th-21st November, featuring the likes of Groove Armada, Everything, Idris Elba, Horse Meat Disco, The 2 Bears Rave, Jodie Harsh and the man himself.
