Awakenings Festival is re-running its entire 2019 festival broadcast this weekend…

Last week, Awakenings Festival made the unfortunate, but sensible, announcement that its Easter edition, scheduled for April 9 to 12 at Amsterdam’s Gashoulder, will not be taking place this year, due to the coronavirus.

As things stand, the main Awakenings Festival, which is due to take place on 27 and 28 June, is still on, although the organisers state that they are ‘closely monitoring’ the current developments around the virus.

‘If additional measures are taken by the government and Awakenings Festival is forced to be cancelled, we will do everything in our power to find an alternative date later this year,’ the techno festival said on its website.

This weekend, though, Awakenings is pulling a special treat out of the bag – a minute-by-minute repeat of its 2019 edition, running across Saturday and Sunday (April 4 and 5).

The Saturday lineup, which kicks of at 2pm CET, features the likes of Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn and Amelie Lens, while Sunday’s highlights include Ida Engeberg, Charlotte de Witte and Adam Beyer, among others.

Last weekend was all about DJ EZ’s epic 24-hour Boiler Room, but this weekend we’re going to bring some Dutch summer sunshine into our living rooms.
