BBC 6 Music is holding an all-day rave this Thursday…

… Ok, not quite. But it’s still worth getting out of bed (early) for. 🙂
This Thursday, 23 August, BBC 6 Music is hosting a series of programmes to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Summer of Love (in much the same way we have been doing here at 909originals), with classic tracks, special guest DJs and plenty of discussion about what took place during those halcyon days, three decades ago.
Prepare for Thursday's #AllDayRave celebrating 30 years of UK club culture since the second summer of love with:

It kicks off with Hacienda legend Graeme Park appearing on Chris Hawkins’ show at 5am (!) to present ‘A Brief History of the Second Summer of Love’ and continues through the morning with Nemone and Lauren Laverne, featuring classic tracks and interviews.
Between 1pm and 4pm, it’s all eyes on Manchester as Radcliffe and Maconie look back at the influence the city had on the dance scene’s development (alongside none other than Marshall Jefferson!), before Nemone takes to the airwaves once more at midnight to transport the listener to Ibiza, circa 1988.
#nowplaying another track from our compilation of the week. This track taken from @DjNancyNoise's mix from Summer Of Love, Yello-Bostitch of course! And Nancy will be joining us for our All Day Rave on Thursday. Get yourselves here:https://t.co/B9W9lEogjTpic.twitter.com/iDyxseJerq

Essential listening all round. Except, if like me, you live outside the UK, and have to resort to other ways to listen in.
But thanks to the joys of the Internet I’ve come across the following link, which opens in iTunes and streams BBC 6 Music… live and uninterrupted.
See you at 5am! 🙂
