Audio Obscura have announced they will be shutting down Amsterdam‘s A10 motorway to host a special ‘Highway Rave’ to coincide with the city’s 750th anniversary celebrations on 21 June.
The dance music brand will be taking over the section of the A10 Zuid close to RAI Metro Station (entrance S109), as part of the ‘Festival op the Ring’ event, a 17-kilometre long series of parties that will see the motorway closed for a single day.
The free event will run for nine hours, with a series of back-to-back sets planned. The full lineup is set to be announced in due course.
Audio Obscura, known for organising electronic music events in unconventional spaces such as the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam Central Station, and the Rijksmuseum bicycle passage, has been selected as the sole dance music platform within the official festival programme.
The Highway Rave is being delivered with support from CUPRA, the event’s main partner, as part of its CUPRA Music initiative, while to support the event financially, a limited-edition t-shirt – a collaboration between Audio Obscura and Amsterdam fashion brand Applied Art Form – is going on sale, priced at €75.
Free tickets for the event are now available via the Audio Obscura website, www.audio-obscura.com/highway-rave.
