Purple Disco Machine has announced details about his forthcoming fourth studio album, Cosmotropia, which is set for release on 30 April 2027.
The album, which has been preceded by the release of a new single, Test My Luck, featuring vocalist MEEK, will ‘draw heavily on the cosmic disco and space-rock sounds of the 1970s and 80s’, according to a press release.
As the artist, aka German producer Tino Piontek, notes, the project was influenced by records played by his parents, including music by Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Kraftwerk, alongside his own interest in the ‘foundational sounds’ of European disco from France, Italy and Germany.
The album follows on from Purple Disco Machine’s previous studio releases Soulmatic, Exotica and Paradise, while he also previously received a Grammy for his remix of Lizzo’s About Damn Time.
The release of the new album will be accompanied by a live tour across Europe in autumn 2027, featuring a full band, dancers and vocalists. The producer is also set to perform his ‘La Discothèque’ show at Drumsheds in London on 13 November.
MEEK has previously written songs for artists including Rita Ora, Martin Garrix, Alan Walker and R3HAB, while her own debut single, Fabulous, was released in January.
