Axel Boman launches new record label, Blurry

Swedish producer and DJ Axel Boman has announced the launch of a new independent record label, Blurry, kicking things off with a collaborative release alongside German producer Superpitcher.

The 10-track album, Tell It To The Mountain, is set for release on 25 September, across both digital and vinyl platforms. It has been preceded by a single, True Crime, which is out now.

“I’ve dreamed of having a platform where I can experiment with art and music for a while now, and this album feels like the perfect project to launch it with,” Boman said of the new label.

His project with Superpitcher has its origins in a hike the pair took to Helags Glacier, where they spent three days together in ‘a state of mind that was equal to exhaustion and inspiration’, which prompted them to start writing the album.

“I’ve admired Superpitcher for decades now. He is a master of suspense, melody, repetition and groove,” Boman added. “He has been highly influential in my own work, and I’ve been wanting to collaborate with him for years.”

Boman, who previously co-founded Stockholm-based imprint Studio Barnhus, said that the new label will combine music with art and graphic design. Swiss artist Laurenz Brunner has been enlisted to oversee the label’s art direction.
