Seedj is offering a platform for DJs and producers seeking professional opportunities, connecting artists with labels, promoters, and venues through a contest-based system.
Seedj, which was launched in 2021, has to date partnered with more than 350 organisations across the global electronic music landscape, with one in every 15 subscribed artists receiving a professional opportunity through the platform.
The system is simple: DJs submit mixes. Producers upload tracks. When a partner finds a match, the artist is selected. According to the company, it’s a straightforward, meritocratic process that puts music first, rather than social media metrics or other algorithms.
Seedj has held contests in South Africa, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and North America, which in turn have led to artists gaining access to venues such as WOMB Tokyo, Radion Amsterdam, Anomalie Berlin, Gotec Club in Karlsruhe, and Now&Wow Rotterdam, through collaborations with the likes of 240km/h, Muud Movement, HATE, The Industry, and Marvellous Festivals.
According to Postparanoia, a DJ and producer from Italy, “Thanks to Seedj, I had the incredible opportunity to perform at And Club as an independent artist after winning one of their daily contests. Their commitment to supporting emerging talent through a truly meritocratic and transparent platform is unmatched.”
The platform also runs a series of targeted contests – collaborations with Riot have focused on FLINTA artists, while work with Gegen supports queer-identifying artists.
Seedj boasts some over 8,500 users from 76 countries, and also provides access to curated sample packs, educational content, and networking features. Read more here.
