While he’s been a powerhouse remixer for well over a decade, Belgian/Italian artist The Magician, aka Stephen Fasano, is counting down to the release of his debut artist album with a new single, Knights of Heaven.
The album, Voyage, is set to be released on 8 November via his Potion Records imprint, and has been preceded by the release of Melodic Avenue ft Nampa, and Never Alone ft. Moroccan/Belgian singer-songwriter Alioth.
In addition, he also recently released a collaboration with Purple Disco Machine, entitled All My Life.
Voyage is described as an album that showcases The Magician’s ‘musical wizardry’, and ‘reflects the diversity of experiences that music can offer, whether that is a physical journey through the stars or an emotional journey through sounds and rhythms, The Magician seamlessly conjures an atmosphere conducive to discovery, exploration and escape.’
If features collaborations with notable artists like Jake Shears, Bipolar Sunshine, Boy Matthews, Alioth, Nampa, and Phra.
“When I thought about my album, I didn’t want to create something for the club but rather something to listen to, whether on a plane, in a car, on a boat, on foot,” Fasano commented on the album. “I wanted to provide a sonic journey that reflects the sensations that take you when you are on the move, with a panorama before you.”
To complement this, the accompanying visual artwork and animations have been crafted by the prestigious creative studio Werlen Meyer, known for their work with brands like Chanel and collaborations with Wes Anderson.
In support of the album, The Magician will embark on a European tour, with performances in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, and Amsterdam, as well as several shows in Mexico.
