La Fleur releases first music in three years, announces forthcoming album

Swedish DJ and producer La Fleur has unveiled her first new music for three years, with the release of double A-side EP Chian/Slowdive, on [PIAS] Électronique.

Both tracks – which blend melodic riffs and upbeat vibes – are set to feature on a forthcoming new album, Väsen, which is set to be released in early 2024.

PIAS] Électronique is a new electronic off-shoot of independent label [PIAS], whose roster includes Tinlicker, Innellea, Natascha Polké and more.

As to why she took three years off from producing music? Rewind to 2020 and things were looking up – her Power Plant label turned ten years old, she had a Watergate compilation and Essential Mix under her belt, as well as appearances at the likes of Awakenings, Sonar By Night, Loveland, Watergate Berlin, Creamfields, Sonus, Printworks London, Sub Club, and many of Ibiza’s leading clubs.

The pandemic transformed her personal and musical life, however, as she moved home to Sweden from Berlin, putting her Masters in Pharmaceutical Science to use as managing lead of 15 to 20 staff in Stockholm’s hospitals.

The experience “got me thinking,” she explains. “What music do I want people to associate with me? I had an album ready in 2020, but I’ve always drawn inspiration not only from music, but changing elements in my life. It’s only now I feel the tracks are ready for the world to hear.”

La Fleur – Chian/Slowdive is out now on [PIAS] Électronique and can be downloaded/streamed here.
