Rüfüs Du Sol release cover of Nirvana’s ‘Something In The Way’

Electronic live act Rüfüs Du Sol have released a synth-led cover of Nirvana’s Something In The Way, originally recorded for radio station Triple J.

The release sees the Australian act utilise a string quartet for the first time, with Tyrone Lindqvist channelling his inner Kurt Cobain on the vocals. You can listen to it here.

Originally featured on 1991’s Nevermind, an acoustic version of Something In The Way was incorporated into the Seattle group’s seminal 1993 recording Unplugged In New York.

The release of Something In The Way follows on from a recent double Grammy nomination for Rüfüs Du Sol for Best Dance/Electronic Recording – for On My Knees – and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album – for Surrender.

The group are now embarking on a global tour, which kicks off on Friday April 21 at Diamante De Baseball in Medellín, Colombia, and on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 at Centro De Eventos Autopiste Norte in Bogota, Colombia.

They will also be performing at several festivals throughout Mexico in April and May, including the Sundream Festival in San José Del Cabo.

The band has several European performances scheduled for June and July, including shows in Zürich, Switzerland, Bonn, Germany, and Rotselaar, Belgium, as well as appearances at various music festivals. They will then head to North America for performances in Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Charlotte in August, with various artists including HVOB, Monolink, and Channel Tres (DJ Set) joining them on stage.
