Trevor Jackson’s four-hour Arthur Baker retrospective is all you should be listening to this week…

Legendary producer and remixer Arthur Baker is rightly considered one of the most influential figures in the foundation of hip hop and electro, but the Boston native also helped artists as diverse as Hall & Oates, New Edition and Bruce Springsteen achieve chart fame… not to mention his inspirational work with New Order.
Last week, Trevor Jackson paid tribute to what could be described as Baker’s ‘golden period’, from 1981 to 1989, across four glorious hours on NTS Live.
We’re big fans of Jackson’s mixes here at 909originals – his Island Records special from last summer gets a constant airing at 909originals HQ – and this selection of tracks is similarly impeccable.
And as he put it on Twitter, “there’s no track listing currently because I’d like everyone who listens to to have no idea what track i’m gonna play next (that’s half the fun isn’t it?)” 🙂
The mix can be found via the link below. Enjoy!
Arthur Baker is THE master, his legendary remixes & productions not only helped forge the sound of an era but also inspired a generation of passionate club-goers + innovative music makers. Here’s 4 hours of my favourites of his from 1981-89, listen LOUD!!! https://t.co/rJx67FLHwipic.twitter.com/esr0W2YYSE
