Electroclash pioneers Fischerspooner have announced a series of vinyl reissues, commencing with a hot pink vinyl LP edition of their breakthrough album, #1.
Set to be released on Demon Records on 27 November as part of Record Store Day Black Friday, the album, which was originally released in 2001, features Emerge – arguably the standout track of the early-2000s electro-pop period – alongside a cover version of The Wire’s The 15th, among other tracks.
Fischerspooner began in New York in 1998 as an art project created by classically trained musician Warren Fischer and performance artist Casey Spooner, combining music, visual art, performance, costumes and special effects.
“It’s exciting that all our creative work and history is being carefully preserved,” Spooner said of the forthcoming re-release. “To have all these ideas gathered in one place and properly archived is a huge gift. There’s so much more that hasn’t been seen and amazing stories yet to be told.”
Demon Music Group also confirmed that a comprehensive Fischerspooner box set is planned for spring 2027, which will cover the duo’s wider catalogue. Fischerspooner released four albums over a career spanning two decades, working with labels including International Deejay Gigolos, Ministry Of Sound, Capitol Records, Serotonin, Ultra and Kitsuné. Their fourth and final album, Sir, was released in 2018 and was co-written and produced by REM frontman Michael Stipe.
“As one of the most creative and groundbreaking artists of the noughties, it was my privilege to be able to sign the Fischerspooner catalogue to the Demon family,” added Adrian Sear, commercial director, Demon Music Group. “Working together with Casey and Warren, Demon will enhance their profile and their reputation for their fans and the new generation of followers to come.”
Fischerspooner – #1 is released on 27 November 2026.
