The duo, Dom Maker and Kai Campos, have spent much of the last decade pushing into indie and shoegaze sounds, with their forthcoming mix for fabric presents seeing them return to their electronic roots.

“The mix is based around the last two years of getting deeper into the clubbier side of Mount Kimbie,” Campos commented. “I wanted to avoid over-thinking it or approaching it in a more conceptual or mix tape fashion and represent what I’ve actually been playing in clubs.

“A lot of these I have rinsed in the last couple of years, so it is a good time to celebrate the music and stop playing them for a while. I thought the more cerebral side has been covered in other mixes in the past and wanted to present something more straight ahead with a few nods to Mount Kimbie’s past as well”.

Accompanying the mix are two new exclusive tracks, Monroe and Jomox, both of which reflect their recent dancefloor direction – Monroe revisits elements of the pair’s 2017 track Marilyn, originally recorded with Mica Levi, while Jomox draws on influences from techno and speed garage.

Since emerging from London’s electronic underground with their 2010 debut album Crooks & Lovers, Mount Kimbie have consistently evolved their sound, channelling indie rock, post-punk and shoegaze on albums including Love What Survives and 2024’s The Sunset Violent.
