Electronic artist and multi-instrumentalist Killian Walsh has unveiled the single Let’s Play Bongos, the latest release from his forthcoming new album, Ise.

Following on from the release of previous single Let’s Float, Let’s Play Bongos emerged during a period when moments of optimism and energy began to reappear following a prolonged experience of grief. According to Walsh, the track is inspired by outdoor rave culture, communal experiences and the escapism found in music and dance.

“There was a point where I started to realise my world was going from black and white back into colour a little bit, and I just wanted to dance, and to forget about life and what was going on,” he commented. “Let’s Play Bongos is about those times: going to raves with bonfires, people juggling and dancing around the fire. That’s what this song is about. I hope people enjoy it.”

The release forms part of a larger narrative presented across Ise, an album that developed following the deaths of Walsh’s wife and father. What began as an informal creative process gradually evolved into a full-length record documenting grief, introspection and personal renewal.

The project was developed alongside collaborators in Dublin, Berlin and Australia, including producers and engineers Tobias Neumann and Johannes Manuel.
