Sunfear, aka Turkish artist Eylül Deniz, is set to release a new album, All At Once, on Dark Entries Records later this month.
Known for blending drone-heavy electronica with intense guitar feedback, Sunfear’s forthcoming eight track album has been preceded by the release of a single, littleness.
A darker composition than her previous long player, Octopus, tracks include above – where sparse guitar riffs meet swirling electronics in a doom-laden reverb chamber – bright and wild, daycare, steps, people like us and the album’s closer, the ethereal form changed.
The artwork for the new album was designed by Eloise Shir-Juen Leigh.
As a press release for the new album put it, ‘All at Once reflects the dark times we live in, but it does not only live in hopelessness; it recognises that while loss and trauma may change our forms, we must continue to move forward.’
Since 2017, Sunfear has carved out a niche in the experimental music scene, with pieces that often feel like a journey through dark, expansive sonic landscapes – check out the haunting track Poem, released in 2023, for a sense of her craft.
Sunfear – All At Once is released on Dark Entries on 13 December. More information can be found here.
