The Blessed Madonna, Cinthie and others to celebrate Frankie Knuckles at ADE

The Blessed Madonna, Cinthie, Tedd Patterson and others are set to take part in a panel discussion at Amsterdam Dance Event to celebrate the legacy of Frankie Knuckles ten years on from his passing.

Taking place on Friday 18 October at Felix Meritis on Amsterdam’s Keizersgracht, the panel discussion is entitled ‘The Godfather of House Frankie Knuckles, 10 years on. What every DJ needs to know about the true origins of House & why heritage is still vital to dance music today’, and is being hosted by The Frankie Knuckles Foundation and Defected Records.

As well as the aforementioned DJs and producers, Frederick Dunson CEO of The Frankie Knuckles Foundation will also give a first hand account of Frankie’s early period with regards performing at The Warehouse in Chicago.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Maria May, Senior Music Agent / Head of Electronic – International, Creative Artists Agency.

As a press release for the event put it, ‘Frankie’s musical influence is profound and relevant to a whole new generation of producers and DJs. His legacy lives on with the Frankie Knuckles Foundation. The panel will examine Frankie’s contribution to House music, the origins of house and the importance of heritage in Dance music, its continued influenced on a new generation of producers all discussed by a diverse selection of panellists some who were there and others expressing the continued impact of his music in the present.’
