Jon Carter and Steve Mac team up for ‘Finish Him!!’ EP on Jack Said What
Jon Carter and Steve Mac have teamed up on a new EP inspired by 8-bit beat-em-ups of yesteryear, entitled Finish Him!!
The title track of the new release, which landed on Jack Said What on 8 November, is described as a ‘thumping techno roller […] bursting with acid bleeps and containing bags of punch and kick’ and was inspired by a t-shirt design the pair encountered at Glastonbury’s backstage bar Maceo’s.
It’s backed by Be Beautiful, a track built around a classic SL12000 drum machine and electronic analogue synthesisers.
It’s the latest release by Jon Carter on Jack Said What, which is run by author Irvine Welsh alongside Steve Mac and Carl Loben, with the Essex native recently returning to dance music after exiting the industry some years back to run a number of pubs, as well as a country retreat.
