He may have put his name to a myriad of mix albums over the years, and formed one half of Brothers In Rhythm, but remarkably, Dave Seaman has to date never released a solo long player.
That’s about to change with the forthcoming release of Mirrorball Sleaze, which is set to in November 2026, almost four decades after Seaman commenced his career in electronic music.
The album will be released on Selador, the label Seaman co-runs with Steve Parry, and follows the release of its title track as a single. The single, which was released on 11 September, includes two versions by Seaman, alongside remixes by Christian Smith and D-SHIFT.
The album project draws on different periods of Seaman’s career, connecting recordings and ideas from his earlier work – including a reference to his 2015 single Strobelight Symphony – with his current electronic music output.
‘Featuring a heady mix of both new and old recordings, all created, revised and/or re-purposed especially for this project, this assemblage represents the best of Dave’s sprawling oeuvre, joining the dots between the some of his most celebrated past glories right up to the present day, where he remains on the frontline of electronic club music,’ as a press release put it.
