Amelie Lens has announced details of her long-awaited debut album, AURA, which is set to land on 4 September on her own EXHALE imprint.
The album, which is preceded by new single our frequency – out now on EXHALE – features 11 tracks, all produced by the Belgian techno heavyweight, including one high-profile collaboration, details of which will be revealed in due course.
Commenting, Lens described AURA as her most personal and emotionally honest project to date.
“AURA is my story,” she said. “Aura is about the connection between the crowd and me. Music has always been my escape, my way of turning my emotions and energy into something new.
“When I was younger, I would disappear into nightclubs and create my own world in my head. Being in the nightclubs gave me this feeling of belonging somewhere, I felt connection and freedom I had never experienced before. That feeling changed my life completely. So this album really reflects that whole journey. From playing tiny local clubs and driving myself through the night for gigs, to standing on huge festival stages, becoming a mother, building EXHALE and learning how to balance it all in life.”
As she explained, the vibe of the album is “emotional but still powerful, uplifting but raw” – incorporating both big festival tracks and trippier cuts that she would “play at 4am at RSO”, as one of the album’s tracks is titled.
“Although making this album is one of the biggest things I have ever done in my life, I wanted to keep it light and somehow playful,” she added. “Because that is also how I am as a person. This is the most honest version of myself I’ve ever shared. I hope it brings some light, happiness and connection to others as it does to me. Because Aura is and always will be about my connection to you.”
Alongside the album announcement, Lens has also unveiled an expanded new iteration of her AURA live show, to what is being positioned as a more ambitious and cinematic live experience. The new-look show has already been confirmed for major festivals and events during 2026, including Tomorrowland, Sonar, Awakenings Festival, Creamfields, Kappa FuturFestival and a forthcoming London b2b performance with Sara Landry.
