Production duo RUZE have launched a new compilation, RUZE and Friends, through their newly-founded label, Staff Only Records.
The compilation, released on 30 October, features both established and emerging house artists, including Josh Butler, Ryan Nicholls, Chesster, Ranger Trucco, and THEOS, and can be purchased/streamed here.
Staff Only Records was built out of a late-night jazz session and a ‘flash of inspiration’, with the label’s spirit of community and collaboration embodying the idea that ‘everyone is part of the staff’. Musically, the label will showcase groove-oriented, soulful house, bridging elements of garage and classic house music styles.
“To start our own label has always been a dream – so cliché,” RUZE said of the launch of Staff Only Records. “We’ve been working our way into the music scene for around 15 years now, and after 15 years of trying it finally feels like we’ve found a space where we can start the label up.”
Stand-out tracks from the compilation include Time Again, a collaboration between RUZE and Ryan Nicholls, which draws on the style of 1990s Chicago house; Surrender, which sees RUZE work with Josh Butler, and a tie-up with THEOS, Let The Power.
RUZE have previously released music on labels such as Hot Creations, Chaos, Universal, Factory93, PIV, AWD, and Dansu Discs. Their 2024 album, Journey, reached number one across all genres on Beatport within 48 hours of its release.
