Belgian DJ and producer Charlotte de Witte has announced that her self-titled debut album will be released on 7 November on her KNTXT label, in both digital and vinyl formats.
The 11-track album has been preceded by two singles, The Realm and No Division (featuring XSALT), with the latter recently released early on vinyl to coincide with a series of concerts in New York. A third single is expected before the full album launch.
Having performed for 15 years, and with some 25 EPs under her belt, de Witte “started to feel the urge to embrace a format that allowed me to showcase my sonic identity in its entirety”, a process that led to the creation of the new long player.
The album is described as being deeply personal – “these are tracks that move me, songs that carry me away like only club music and a night lost in it can”, as she puts it – as well as showcasing the techno–acid crossover sound she has become synonymous with.
“Make no mistake, this is a true DJ album,” de Witte commented. “I’m a club kid, always will be, and every track on this record makes me want to dance.”
The release will coincide with an extensive international tour, covering Europe, South America, and North America. You can pre-order the album here.
