Carl Cox has announced the return of his seminal label, Intec, with a new EP from Carlo Lio & M.I.T.A., entitled Chasing Ghosts.
Intec was founded by Cox in 1998, going on to release classics such as Tomaz & Filterheadz – Sunshine, Renato Cohen – Pontape, Bryan Zentz – D-Clash and more before being paused in 2006.
In 2010, the label returned again, for a ten-year period, with Roel Salemink’s Eskes as its last release. As a press release put it, ‘Now, the time is right for Intec to return and do what it does best – delivering dancefloor-shaking records from both fresh talent and familiar names.’
Toronto-born Carlo Lio, who has released on labels such as Tronic, Suara, and KD Raw, teams up with Italian producer M.I.T.A., with releases on CROWD, Virgo, Suara, Uncage, and Tronic, on the new release, which features three tracks: Chasing Ghosts, Afreaka! and The Artists Struggle.
‘Intec has always been a champion of high-energy, tribal, and groove-driven techno, as well as its more melodic side,’ as the release put it. ‘Now after almost 25 years, the label returns with a renewed focus: uncovering standout records from fresh talent while bringing back some familiar names from its storied past.’
Carlo Lio & M.I.T.A. – Chasing Ghosts is out now.
