Arthur Baker teams up with Steve Mac on ‘Sex Machine’ EP

Legendary producer Arthur Baker has teamed up with Steve Mac on a new three-track EP on Jack Said What.

The Sex Machine EP, which features the tracks Losing You 24, Sex Machine and Beans, was released last week, and was inspired by a recent summer in Ibiza, according to Steve Mac.

“Arthur spent the summer in Ibiza and was going to DC10 every Monday listening to what was going on music wise, lapping it up with the likes of Martinez Brothers,” he explains.

“He sketched a few ideas out on his laptop in Ibiza then eventually brought them to me in my Brighton studio and the rest is history.”

Having cut his teeth in the disco and soul movements, Baker hit prominence in the early 80s for his work on Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force’s Planet Rock – a key track in the development of the electro scene.
