Apotek, aka Elisa Di Riccio, is a keyboardist, vocalist and producer who has garnered support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, James Lavelle and Sean Keaveney in the past, and the Italian-born, Brussels-based musician recently embarked on a new sonic journey with her latest EP, Splash!

Released in June, Splash! features five tracks, including the recent singles Moaning and All That Is, which blend layered lofi chords, vocal snippets, and breakbeats to create a genre-straddling sound. You can download/stream it here.

As part of 909originals #MyRecordBag feature, we asked Apotek to name her top ten leftfield electronica productions. Over to you, Apotek!

Sebastian Mullaert – Every Moment, I Am

Every Moment, I Am extends over seven and a half minutes of mesmerising bliss, it’s one of my favourite tracks from Sebastian Mullaert.”

Aphex Twin – Tha

Tha, from Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin, is definitely one of the most groundbreaking and influential albums in the realm of electronic music. I never get tired of this track, and the whole record… it’s just wow! It’s incredible to think it was released in 1992.”

Blawan – Blika

“I love Blawan’s taste for experimentation. I find his sound incredibly interesting and powerful.”

Actress – Mincin

“Even though this dates back to 2008, it truly sounds like it could’ve been released 10 years later. Mincin is probably my favourite track from the album Hazyville. I like the variety of the record and the way he experiments with sounds.”

Tweaks – DS Glitch

“Released on Seet Deh Records in 2021. The entire album is sick!”

Joy Orbison – In drink

In drink from still sleeping vol.1 is such a compelling and soulful record.”

Stimming – 10 000 Miles from Home

“I really appreciate this release by Stimming. The album Ludwig differentiates itself a lot from his previous more club-oriented works and tends to be more experimental, and rich in textures. As a whole, I find it a very fascinating record.”

Ishome – Ken Tavr

“Ken Tavr is a track from an album released in 2013, Confession. I’m so in love with her sound!”

Burial, Four Tet, and Thom Yorke – Her Revolution

“In this track, you can hear the signature sound of each genius distinctly. I listened to this one on repeat when it came out.”

Julianna Barwick – Nod ft. Nosaj Thing

“This collaboration between Julianna Barwick and Nosaj Thing is incredibly beautiful, as well as the whole album. Healing is a Miracle enchants with its ethereal atmosphere, and Barwik’s voice is so gentle and therapeutic.”

Thanks Apotek for your selections. The Splash! EP can be downloaded/streamed here.
