Detroit duo Floorplan unveil new EP on Classic Music Co
Floorplan, the Detroit-based duo of Robert and Lyric Hood, are back with another double-track release on Classic Music Co, We Give Thee Honor / Makes Me Wanna.
The EP was released on 10 February, and can be downloaded/streamed here.
The opening track, We Give Thee Honor, is a high-energy cut that caught the attention of Classic label boss Luke Solomon during Floorplan’s recent performance at the Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon.
According to a press release, the new EP celebrates the duo’s spiritual influences, and follows on from recent releases Right There / Holy Ghost and Get My Mansion Ready / Out Of Control. Floorplan have also become synonymous for their remix work, on tracks such as Joe Smooth’s Promised Land, TSHA’s Power and Nina Simone’s I Put A Spell On You.
“We wanted to show our gospel and dancefloor roots with We Give Thee Honor and Makes Me Wanna,” commented Floorplan’s Robert and Lyric Hood. “We Give Thee Honor will take you to church while Makes Me Wanna will make you want to get on the dancefloor. We want you to feel the vibrations of our souls through this EP.”
