This vinyl subscription service is just what we need during lockdown…

There’s nothing like spending an afternoon rummaging through the racks at your local record store, but while lockdown has put the kibosh on this particular pastime, a new vinyl subscription service is here to keep you well stocked with essential wax.

Casavinyl, the brainchild of DJ and promoter Peter Asiaw, is a subscription site that delivers vinyl to your door, once a month, from a selection of top labels, including Drumcode, Toolroom, Deep Disco, Slothboogie and many more.

And what better tonic to lift spirits during lockdown than a plentiful supply of quality tunes?

As Asiaw tells 909originals, “The idea of a subscription site for vinyl came about when my DJng was beginning to tail off after the birth of my first son. I wanted to keep in the game somehow and thought about selling records the traditional way, but then I thought – why not do a subscription model?”

Casavinyl offers vinyl junkies four different subscription plans

There are four subscription plans available, ranging from £19.99 to £84.99 per month, for which each subscriber is allocated a set number of ‘credits’, which in turn can be exchanged for records – most vinyls are priced at 8 credits, with double vinyl packs at 14.

“Basically your monthly fee equates to a certain amount of credits put into your Casavinyl account, and you buy what you want from the site with your credits,” says Asiaw. “This ensures that you have a regular supply of records even in these crazy tough times.”

While the site is less than a year old, it has a bit of work to do to catch up to the likes of Juno, Phonica and others, but it’s certainly a novel concept, and one that already boasts an admirable array of artists and labels.

“Our USP is that we are the only electronic music record subscription site,” says Asiaw.

And while we’re all locked down for the foreseeable future, we reckon it’s just what we need. Visit www.casavinyl.com to find out more. 🙂

  1. It is a nice blog. During lockdown it was hard for people to stay happy when there were so many restrictions. Vinyl records can be a very good entertainment during such times. Keep sharing amazing content.
