Techno producer Ellen Allien has released the first remix package from her 2026 album New Life, on BPitch.
New Life RMXS 1 brings together reworks from Cleric, Yazzus and Bjarki, and was released digitally and on vinyl on 22 October. Check it out here.
Berlin native Allien released New Life in July of this year, drawing on themes of ‘personal autonomy, community responsibility and the destructive forces threatening our planet’s beauty.’ The album combines techno with elements of minimal, darkwave and electronica, and draws on the same elements that have long defined her sound.
On the remix EP, UK producer Cleric reworks the track Bella, while Ghanaian-British producer Yazzus, a member of Mala Junta, takes on Lights Off.
Elsewhere, Icelandic producer Bjarki contributes two versions of Cruising, including a mix exclusively available on Bandcamp, while Allien presents an acapella version of the track Fantazy.
The remix package follows on from plenty of coverage around the release of New Life, including interviews with Bandcamp Daily, Mixmag ES, The Wire, DJ Mag and The New Yorker.
