French Touch pioneers Cassius have announced a long-awaited return to Irish shores for a special night at Dublin’s Button Factory on Friday 16 October, presented by Selective Memory.
Following the tragic death of Philippe Zdar in 2019, Cassius co-founder Hubert ‘BoomBass’ Blanc-Francard reignited the project following an appearance at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris – bringing the unmistakable Cassius sound back to the dancefloor.
Attendees can expect to hear tracks that defined an era and continue to inspire, such as the euphoric rush of Cassius 1999, the soulful drive of Feeling For You, and the deeper, funk-infused grooves that made them legends of French electronic music.
Back in 2024, when reviving the Cassius project, BoomBass penned a short story, entitled How Do You See Me Now?, in which he recalled the duo’s formative years.
‘Cassius was a playground where time was forever fixed on the duration of a finished song,’ he wrote. ‘We were building a shared musical memory, with passion but not without ego.’ Read the full short story here.
With that in mind, Cassius forthcoming performance at the Button Factory – the first Cassius show in Dublin for 18 years – is set to be more than a performance. It will be a celebration of legacy, friendship, and the enduring spirit of one of the most influential acts in house music history.
To make the night even more special, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy has also recently been added to the lineup, along with local favourite Captnnn.
