Deep Dish have released a remix of Moderat‘s 2016 track Eating Hooks, ahead of the release of their forthcoming mix compilation, GU49: Dublin, due out on Global Underground later this month.
The remix (check it out here) also marks the first Moderat release for three years, following on from the remix of More Love by Rampa and &ME.
“Moderat’s Eating Hooks has always carried a certain emotional weight for us,” Deep Dish said of the remix. “There’s a depth to their music that stays with you and reworking it was a real honour for us. Timeless, emotional, and deeply atmospheric.
“It’s one of those rare records that lives beyond trends. Our approach was to preserve that essence while reshaping it for the dancefloor, pushing it into a more club-focused direction; something that could stretch out and evolve in a late-night set. The remix felt like a natural bridge between worlds.”
GU49: Dublin marks part three of a Global Underground ‘city trilogy’ for Deep Dish following previous outings in Moscow and Toronto.
Andy Horsfield of Global Underground described the Moderat rework as a “classic remix”, adding that it was a “real honour to have Deep Dish’s collaboration with Moderat on GU”.
The tracklisting for GU:49 has also been released, featuring tracks and remixes from artists including Guy J, Franky Wah, Dubfire, Miss Kittin, Pete Tong and Monolink.
