Amelie Lens is marking five years of her EXHALE label with the release of the seventh edition of the compilation series of the same name, Exhale VA007.
Opening with a new track by Lens herself, Activate, the compilation features artists such as Flour, GALLØ, AIROD, FLKN and Blondex, all of whom have previously appeared on EXHALE releases, or appeared at EXHALE events. It goes on sale on 28 November across all platforms.
EXHALE began five years ago as a platform associated with the Labyrinth Club in Hasselt, where Lens was a resident, before developing into a techno-focused label, platform and event series, powered by a ‘shared love of uncompromising rave culture’.
Over time, the label and event series expanded to hosting events in cities such as London, Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Paris, Athens and Istanbul, as well as hosting stage takeovers at festivals such as Awakenings ADE, Creamfields UK and Tomorrowland.
Several artists on the compilation are making their first appearance, with the likes of Glasgow’s AISHA, Ellen Tren, rising Palestinian artist Jomaa, Carla Schmitt, Alexa Borzyk, and VE/RA also appearing, and Kurdish artist Lawyn closing out proceedings with the melodic Nami.
‘The perfect sign-off for a compilation that brims with raw energy, exciting talent and encapsulates EXHALE’s dynamic techno universe with aplomb,’ as a press release put it. ‘As essential as the label itself, here’s to the next five years and many more to come!’
Exhale VA007 is available from 28 November and can be downloaded/streamed here.
