Don Diablo has unveiled the latest single under his CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ alias, Let Me Go (Find My Way), which is out now on Hexagon.
Following on from the release of Head Banger, the Dutch artist’s latest CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ output blends ‘soulful vocals, high-energy signature drum & bass rhythms, and a digitised future house aesthetic […] like flying through a video game where the hero is mid-metamorphosis, grappling with pain that ultimately births growth’, according to a press release.
Commenting on the release, Diablo said that Let Me Go (Find My Way) is one of the most “emotional and personal” records he has released under the alias.
“Next to some of my favorite drum & bass records, I’ve been drawing inspiration from different genres for this one and really pushed myself sonically to create something emotional, futuristic, and otherworldly,” he said.
“The lyrics refer to a past relationship, my longest one, and the struggles I was facing at the time in search for success. When you are at the bottom, there is no space for love or real connection; it’s better to let go so you can focus on finding your own way first. It’s been creating special moments in my sets – and in my life – and I’m excited to finally share it with the world.”
Hexagon label founder Diablo, currently rated 15th in DJ Mag’s Top 100, has collaborations with the likes of Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Gucci Mane, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Travis Barker, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Madonna, The Chainsmokers, Coldplay and more under his belt, and sees CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ as a ‘reset and a creative override’, enabling him to explore new sonic textures.
He has a series of performances lined up over the summer, on July 3–5 at Stavernfestivalen in Norway; July 4–6 at Neversea Kapital in Romania; July 9 at Festival d’été de Québec; July 11 in Chicago’s Ramova Theatre; July 12 at Echostage in Washington, DC; July 18 at The Midway in San Francisco; July 19 at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in NYC; July 20 at Toronto’s Cabana Pool Bar; July 24 and 25 in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; July 26 in Agde, France; and July 30 in Barcelona.
