Electric Galway is set to host an all-female DJ lineup on Saturday 11 January, to celebrate Nollaig na mBan. The event will celebrate women in music, with performances by FrontLeft, Stellar Jo, Eskimo Jones, Nancy Wilde, Maurimoto, and FRYA.
FrontLeft, also known as Laura, is a member of the Yawlag collective and regularly performs at Electric. She is known for her disco and house sets and has played at festivals such as Éalú Le Grá and All Together Now.
She’ll be joined by Stellar Jo, who combines deep and progressive house with vocal elements and has performed at Burning Man, All Together Now, Éalú le Grá, and events across Europe, and Eskimo Jones, who is a rising star in Galway’s music scene, known for her deep house and disco performances.
Elsewhere, Nancy Wilde, who hosts Time Capsule on Flirt FM, will bring Italo disco, Afrobeat, and cosmic beats to proceedings, while Maurimoto is a relative newcomer to DJing, specialising in melodic techno.
Finally, FRYA (pictured), who integrates audio and visual components into her performances, has participated in festivals like All Together Now, Éalú le Grá, and Hidden Hearth, focusing on house and psytrance with tribal and percussive elements.
‘Don’t miss out on this unforgettable celebration of female talent and unity—a night of music, connection, and powerful energy,’ as a press release for the event put it. More information can be found below.
