New label, Jolene Records, seeks to draw inspiration from French touch, disco and funk

Jolene Records, developed by producer siblings Danny and Mike Parton, seeks to draw its inspiration from 90s house, French touch, disco and funk – with a modern twist – and the new imprint is set to release its first EP on 11 October.

Jolene 01 features two tracks from Mike Parton, Discofloor, described as a ‘full flavour cut with lots of lush loops from the bassline to the sugary synths’, and Tounu, a more Afro-tinged track. Danny Parton also contributes two tracks, the soulful Someone and closing track Champagne.

According to a press release to accompany the new label, the pair’s ‘modern and sophisticated tracks electrify dance floors and have done so for many years on a string of respected labels. Passionate about sampling, they transform musical influences into unique creations. For them, music is a celebration, and this vision led them to establish Jolene Records to share their passion for sound and rhythm.’

Danny Parton/Mike Parton’s Jolene 01 is released on vinyl and digital on Jolene Records on 11 October. More information can be found here: www.instagram.com/jolenerecords/
