Nightmares on Wax has announced the release of a mini-documentary, Carboot Soul Live at The Royal Festival Hall, to mark the 25th anniversary of the album, Carboot Soul.
The documentary, cirected by Pedro Takahashi and produced by Friend London alongside Fred Qvortrup, examines the creative journey behind the album, and incorporates footage from two performances at London‘s Royal Festival Hall, which took place in April.
It’s set to be released on 22 August, while the trailer went live in the past few days – you can view it here.
Nightmares on Wax, aka George Evelyn, is the longest-serving artist on the Warp Records roster, and has become synonymous with blending electronica, jazz, hip-hop, techno, dub, funk, and soul – as evidenced on Carboot Soul.
At the Royal Festival Hall performances, Nightmares on Wax collaborated with The Outlook Orchestra to create an entirely new rendition of the album, crafted exclusively for the night. Evelyn was supported by award-winning composer Tommy Evans, and Matt Roberts, who was responsible for orchestration and arrangement.
Other Carboot Soul live performances are scheduled for Los Angeles (4 September), San Francisco (7 September) and Colorado (14 September).
