Jeff Mills bringing ‘Tomorrow Comes The Harvest’ ensemble to Dublin in September
Detroit techno luminary Jeff Mills brings his Afrofunk-electro-jazz ensemble, Tomorrow Comes The Harvest, to Dublin‘s National Concert Hall on Saturday, 23rd September, presented by Subject & District 8.
Tomorrow Comes The Harvest features an array of cross-genre musicians, who ‘explore the unknown by intersecting sound and rhythm through an array of improvisational movements’.
The concept was put into action by the late Afrobeat creator and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen, along with Jeff Mills. Along with veteran keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary, the three toured internationally until Allen’s untimely death in 2020.
Now, Mills has reconfigured the concept to function as a trio once again and invited tabla virtuoso Prabhu Edouard to join the ensemble, for what promises to be an evening of visionary music – as the video below demonstrates.
Mills needs no introduction to techno aficionados, renowned for pushing the boundaries of electronic music with his experimental sounds and his ability to fuse various musical styles seamlessly. This should be no exception.
Tickets for this event go on sale on Tuesday, 14 March at 10 am. Early bird tickets will be available for €44.50, while general sale tickets will be sold for €49.50, including booking fees. Tickets will be exclusively available through the National Concert Hall’s website, www.nch.ie.
