Techno titan Ben Sims has launched a new vinyl and digital series, Hardgroove Originals, which kicks off on 6 December with an EP featuring Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Mark Williams and Roku.
The series will seek to ‘affirm the true essence of Hardgroove’, and marks the first appearance of Roku in around two decades, with the Ben Sims and Mark Broom collaboration making regular appearances at clubs like The Orbit and Liquid Room in the early to mid 2000s (often across six decks).
The EP opens with Snapshot’ 99, first released in 20222, followed by Mark Broom’s stab-fuelled W.W.W.W.W.W.W.WORK and Next 21s by Mark Williams. Acid Amnesia, the first new Roku track to be released since 2006, rounds off the EP.
As a press release about the new release puts it, “if you’re going to call it Hardgroove, know what Hardgroove is…”
Hardgroove Originals Vol. 1 featuring Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Mark Williams and Roku is released on December 6th via Hardgroove in vinyl and digital formats, and can be pre-ordered here.
