90s pop-dance group D:Ream has announced the release of a remastered version of their debut album, D:Ream On Vol. 1, featuring a number of additional bonus tracks.
The group, which comprises Peter Cunnah and Alan Mackenzie, have released the album on New State Music ahead of a summer tour, which includes an appearance at the forthcoming Glastonbury Festival.
“We’re really pleased how these remasters have turned out and hope everyone enjoys them as much as we do,” the group commented.
“Mastering legend John Davis, who sadly passed away last year, did a wonderful job on them at Metropolis Studios. You can hear us perform a few of them, along with some of our new music, at various UK gigs over the summer, including our long overdue debut at Glastonbury.”
The album, which features singles Things Can Only Get Better, U R The Best Thing, Take Me Away, Unforgiven, Blame It On Me and Star/I Like It, was a one-off, at least at the time – D:Ream went their separate ways not long afterwards, reforming in 2008 and releasing two subsequent albums, In Memory Of and Open Hearts Open Minds. They are also currently working on a new album.
“We love playing the hits,” Cunnah added. “It’s always so much fun to bring so much joy, but for us it’s very much about the new music.”
Other live performances set for the summer include Decadence Boutique Festival in Kidderminster, Summer Bowl in Sheffield, Hits On The Pitch in Stockport, BannarooFestival in Norfolk, and a Lush Classical appearance alongside the BBC Ulster Symphony Orchestra at SSE Belfast.
