Jamie Jones reworks Soft Cell’s ‘Tainted Love’ to mark track’s 40th anniversary

Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones has unveiled a remix of Soft Cell‘s legendary Tainted Love, to mark the track’s 40th anniversary.

Released on Positiva on 3 December, Jones has reworked the synth-pop classic into a club-ready tech house track, with his Jamie Jones 4Z Remix. You can check it out here.

Originally released by Gloria Jones in 1964, Tainted Love was a Northern Soul classic, prompting Soft Cell, aka Marc Almond and Dave Ball, to release their version of the track in 1981 – promptly hitting the top of the charts in the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia and around the world.

Having just marked the 40th anniversary of their seminal Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret album, Soft Cell are set to release a new album, Happiness Not Included, in Spring 2022.

Jamie Jones recently dropped a new three-track EP, Handy Work, and launched a new radio show, Hot Robot Radio. His Paradise global event series is set to host a party in Miami this weekend.
