Âme, Amelie Lens and Gerd Janson were the most prolific touring DJs in 2019

German house duo Âme played more dates on the road than any other DJ last year, racking up a total of 170 events – one every 2.1 days.
In addition, Belgian techno queen Amelie Lens and Gerd Janson each racked up 155 gigs last year (one every 2.3 days), followed by Claptone (137 gigs), Horse Meat Disco (135 gigs) and Charlotte De Witte (133 gigs).
The data was compiled by Elliott Mathews, founder of immersive event brand Trippy Visions, using data garnered from Resident Advisor.
Other artists to put in some serious air miles in 2019 include Marcel Dettmann (132 gigs), Seth Troxler (130 gigs), Adriatique (127 gigs), Black Coffee (127 gigs), DJ Tennis (127 gigs) and Pan-Pot (122 gigs).

Artists to see the biggest year-on-year increase in gigs last year included Poland’s VTSS (115 gigs, a 156% rise), Copenhagen-based Sugar (75 gigs, a 469% increase) and emerging techno doyenne SPFDJ (98 gigs, a 151% rise).
As for the artist to visit the most countries during the calendar year, that honour goes to Gerd Janson, who made it to an impressive 40 territories in 2019, ahead of Dubfire (38), Amelie Lens (35) and Mind Against (35).
Matthews also looked at which artists had the strongest fan following on Resident Advisor, with Maceo Plex topping the list (48,061 fans), ahead of Daft Punk (45,971) and Disclosure (42,215).

With the coronavirus wreaking havoc on touring schedules this year, however, it remains to be seen if any artists can accumulate a similar schedule this year…
