Josh Wink has announced a forthcoming remix of Chris Liebing’s track Eye C, which appeared on the recent Evolver LP, released in March.
Set for release on CLR on 25 September, the EP features the original track on the B-side.
Evolver is Chris Liebing’s first fully solo-produced LP and featured collaborations with Luke Slater, Charlotte de Witte and Daniel Miller. Eye C was the final full-length track on the album.
Ovum label boss Wink has remixed a myriad of artists over the years, including Depeche Mode, Moby and Radiohead. For his take on Eye C, he reworks the track with ‘fizzing synth modulations and prickly acid lines’. building intensity before moving into a deeper, atmospheric groove.
As a press release put it, ‘it’s linear and heady, perfect for the small hours, with unsettling vocal fragments refracted around the mix and subtle hypnotism floating overhead as the drums grow ever harder’.
