Brazilian producer Kalif has announced the release of his latest album, …and the space in between.
Available now via Bandcamp and streaming platforms, the 16-track album is described as moving ‘from introspection to intensity’, blending ‘nostalgic warmth, melancholic beauty and abstract textures’ as it shifts from abstract electronica to hard techno.
It follows on from other recent releases, including the singles Grounding Grooves, Mangue Vibe, Trí naid trí, Morphed, Twenty-three, Awakening and others. His most recent album, Rebirth, was released in 2022, a year that also saw the release of a previous album, You could hear broken violins in the wind.
Kalif describes …and the space in between as “less a collection of tracks than a continuous story shaped by memory, contrast and arrival”.
Currently based in Brazil‘s northeast, Kalif, also known as Pedro Frazão, became active in the Irish club scene during the late 90s and 2000s and has also performed in major clubs France and his native Brazil. He previously released the independent album Banzo in 2008 and has continued publishing music independently in recent years.
