Danish DJ and producer Kölsch has released his latest album, KINEMA, ahead of the launch of his new live show, Kölsch and the Machine, which is set to debut on 23 October at Amsterdam Dance Event.

Kölsch also plans to tour his new live show around Europe, with forthcoming performances lined up in Berlin, London, Paris, Antwerp, Madrid and other European cities.

The ten-track album takes its name from the Greek word for ‘movement’, and continues the trends from previous albums, on which Kölsch explored personal themes, including 1977, 1983, 1989, and Now Here No Where – I Talk to Water.

As a press release for the new album puts it, ‘Each track is a scene, some intimate and suspended in a dream, others with sweeping club energy, all stitched into a sonic arc that reflects the journey of life itself.’

The record opens with a collaboration with Camelphat, Waste My Time, followed by Nacht & Träume, referencing Schubert’s work of the same name. Other collaborations on the album include the track Sad Makes Me Happy, which features vocalist Bonn, known for previous collaborations with Kölsch, and
All That Matters, created with Symphony of Unity and Troels Abrahamsen.

The album, released on Kölsch’s IPSO label, was preceded by the single All Week, which was released at the end of September.

The accompanying live show, Kölsch and the Machine, will use analog and modular instruments to reinterpret tracks from KINEMA alongside earlier material from the artist’s catalogue.

Kölsch – KINEMA is out now and can be downloaded/streamed here. More information about the tour can be found here.
