Global Underground has announced that Guy J will be the face of its next mix compilation, #GU48: Guy J – Córdoba, which is set to be released on 7 November.
The latest edition of the mix series, which has recently featured artists such as Danny Tenaglia, ANNA, and Joseph Capriati, will feature two distinct mixes – a club mix and a downtempo mix – and will largely be comprised of Guy J’s own productions.
A press release for the compilation described Guy J as a ‘unique DJ – the perfect balance between performer and producer – his sets transcend music, becoming a spiritual event, his thousands of loyal followers treating him like a deity. In fact, for the photoshoot for #GU48 Guy J – Córdoba, he stopped traffic as so many people recognised him and came for selfies and autographs. No wonder Córdoba is such a special city for Guy J.’
“I’m beyond excited to be part of the Global Underground mix series and join the DJs that influenced me and made a historical impact on the global electronic music scene,” he commented.
“These two mixes are a homage to the music that made me who I am today. I hope these tracks will become soundtracks to beautiful memories in your life as they are in mine. Thank you for everything.”
The project will be preceded by a three-track EP, due on 17 October. In addition, for the first time in the Global Underground series, a Collector’s Edition will include a limited-run 12-inch marbled vinyl with an exclusive Guy J track that will not be available elsewhere.
